With the Bulls game at Guiseley called off yesterday, results elsewhere pushed Hereford back into the relegation places of the Vanarama National League North.
However, only seven points now seperate second bottom Ashton United, from 13th placed Alfreton, and so a decent run of results can transform the divisional table. Can Hereford achieve this? Simon Wright looks ahead to a tough looking upcoming list of fixtures.
The number of points to stay up in our Division is usually around 44-46. That said, 47 were required last season, with probably a dozen clubs all struggling. Relegated Gainsborough won 14 games.
Arguably, we have the same situation this year with a narrow spread of points separating a lot of sides. Even Nuneaton, who were becoming adrift, won 2-1 at Darlington yesterday. Hereford have to gather more points more quickly to stay the right side of the line. Probably 29-30 points will be needed from our remaining games. Put another way, that is a minimum of 5 points from every 4 games until the end of the season. That’s a tough call, given our forthcoming opposition:

In mitigation, Bradford Park Avenue were outplayed by Southport yesterday, and both Kidderminster and Chorley are not in great form. Tough times ahead with our team needing our backing.
