So, it’s goodbye Oxford City, though we never really knew you, and hello to Gateshead FC in the National League North.

Gateshead are a club without a manager, players, physiotherapist, secretary, media personnel, etc, etc and will need to move very fast to be ready for the full-on assault in our division.

The trouble is I’ve just looked up the mileage for Hereford fans. At 526 miles, it is the second longest away journey in the National League North for us, and will presumably result in another overnighter for our squad.

It is not yet totally confirmed that the Head will be based out of the International Athletics Stadium, but if that remains the club’s HQ, Hereford fans who’ve previously visited will confirm it can be a miserable place to watch football as supporters are so far away from the action.

For the band of fanatics determined to attend every game during the Bulls’ 2019/20 campaign Gateshead’s inclusion now increases the total distance from Edgar Street has reached 6,300 miles.

That is nearly 300 more miles than Hereford faced last season.

Oh goody.
