Hereford have signed the former Bristol City goalkeeper James Carey.

Carey, 19, was at Edgar Street this afternoon and was part of the pre-match warm up routine, but was not named on the 5-man Hereford substitutes bench.

The youngster has been brought in predominantly as cover for Brandon Hall who the Bulls signed from Kidderminster Harriers earlier in the summer.

Carey gained experience as an 18-year old with Frome Town last term whilst on loan from City.

A regular at U-23 for Bristol City he is expected to link up with Brandon Hall in the Bulls goalkeeping training sessions.

Head coach Marc Richards has indicated he may not utilise a goalkeeper on the substitutes bench, preferring on occasions to have more outfield options.
